Nice eggs!

I hope you have a great hatch!

I have Delawares hatching next friday, then UofA Blues and Olive Eggers the Friday after that. I set more Delawares and SG Dorkings this morning.

I am stagger hatching now!

I need a Delaware rooster. I have 4 young Delaware hens from Denny Thomas. She came yesterday & spent the night but had no spare rooster to bring to me. She did however bring a nice pair of Palm turkeys to add to my pen of 2 young hens. I will soon have turkey eggs.

Denny Thomas is coming this afternoon. I am excited to see her. It has been quite awhile. I hope she is spending the night. I need to check out the "guest room" Aaron was the last one that spent the night....LOL

Hi Karen! I marked the 18th on my calendar! I'm so excited! Please say hi to Denny for me! My craft room is at a stand still as I have torn something in my shoulder! I think my warranty has expired!

Aaron should be home this weekend so we should be able to make a bit of progress!

Can someone please let me know about these:

Questions on the Genesis Hovabator:
I see the digital thermostat and humidity reading in the pic.
Does it ACTUALLY add water with a pump like the Brinsea. I'm assuming not, but a girl can wish, right?
Does it have that pain in the read twist temp nob like the old hovabators. I hated that thing. the slightest touch and I got temp spikes.
Lastly: Is it plastic or styrofoam? The pic looks like plastic, i know the original ones are styrofoam.

On the dickey:
The humidity system in the 5 gallon bucket: Does that add as needed as well?

Mine should be here in a few days. I am assuming the humidity is just a readout because the humidity pups are expensive buy for the Hovabator we figures out an easy inexpensive way to add humidity without opening the incubator on our last one & I will rig this one the same. You still have to monitor it but don't need to open it to add water.

Quote: I don't hold with calling people. My husband says its always better to apologize than ask permission when dealing with county! That (Denair) is so far in the country and since it is county jurisdiction - I'd just go for it! We have 60+ chickens and 4 full grown cocks and several cockerels. We are on the county side of the street. City is the other side. No problems! We used to live out there. She should have any issues at all. Sometimes calling people starts to raise unnecessary objections.

I agree 100% on that. No phone calls for me! I'll just play dumb.

I sent you an email with pictures of a couple of my Del males that I don't want, in case you are interested. Do you plan on showing or what do you use the Dels for?

Well that's how it's supposed to work when friends get together for a visit!

I have a question...tomatoes ....are the leaves ok for chickens or no...found two websites that said two different things! Trying to plan my raised beds for the garden and some are in chicken territory.
