That's one breed that I haven't had! I do have a Buff Brahma who is a big, wide girl! Zoro has been courting her and finally succeeded today, several times! He even got our Coronation Sussex today. He likes those big butts!

Uh oh. one of my eggs has a small crack across the aircell (the crack is in the shell) and there is a black mass/shadow in the aircell. the chick is alive and moving.but whats wrong with the aircell

So glad you plan to come. Denny stayed the night & we gabbered til 1 a.m........................LOL
Is Denny coming to the chicken party in May? It would be nice to see her! I'm so glad that you are back chatting with us, Karen! I've missed you!

That sounds like me! I hatch them and then they go to the farm. I'm waiting for my friend to say enough is enough!

haven't heard from her in awhile. she still away?
Her chicken sitter must be making a small fortune lol
She's still away as far as I know. She mentioned her DH was her pet sitter. I think she said she was coming back in March?

Well that's how it's supposed to work when friends get together for a visit!

I have a question...tomatoes ....are the leaves ok for chickens or no...found two websites that said two different things! Trying to plan my raised beds for the garden and some are in chicken territory.
Technically, they are part of the nightshade family (with potatoes, bell peppers, and hot peppers) and are poisonous. I don't think small quantities would hurt them, but if you had a lot of tomato plants it could.

But poisonous doesn't necessarily mean it's going to kill them. It just means there may be some adverse effects such as stomach upset, vomiting ( I don't think chickens vomit).
