California - Northern

Also chrissy i dont even have the money for eggs. the money i did hace saved was needed for something
maybe there are some nice breeders close by. then eggs or chicks would be cheaper. There has to be something nice by you. Remember some people are on FB that aren't on here and vice versa. There's a Northern CA page. Just don't give up.

Finally got my laptop to admit that things connected by a usb cable exist!

The girls foraging in the back yard (most of the yard is front and side...) probably hoping to find another salamander.

My 5-year-old tends to leave quite generous apple cores--I decided to see if anyone'd eat it from my hand instead of waiting for me to toss it. I had to drop it fairly soon, as I figured pecks hard enough to rip bits of apple off would hurt...

Skelter!

If you can make the drive up to the Redding area, they seem to be something of a Mecca for chickens in the North.
I've been thinking of going there for mine, when I'm ready, despite the distance (I'm also around two hours away).
Just glancing at their Craigslist, I counted two or three people selling various bantam birds, one selling polish crested, and one selling young silkies - just in the last three days!
I know in my area, there definitely aren't that many chickens this time of year. But over there, it seems like they're bursting at the seems...

I was wondering if they took your thumb off?!? But I LOVE your egg server!!!!!! I've never - now I'll be in the lookout for something like that!
I have two crested polish they dont seem to be all that cold hardy. ill have to see about the redding thing
Lots of silkie breeders in the carson to Reno area to look up for future reference. Perhaps a meet while they are passing by or something will come up . Keep trying -

I hope Jason had some hatch. I have all but two eggs out. They are very cute!

I hope I see a Duck picture from Chrissy soon.

I did get a video of one of the Dels hatching last night.

12 Delawares have hatched so far. 5 more have pips, which leaves two that are not progressing.

Gonna be a good hatch!

Glad to hear it Ron. It is so exciting watching Delawares hatch. They are so strong & fast & once out they make me laugh. Such curious & fearless litter chicks they are......LOL
