California - Northern

We do hatch in cartons. There is always at least one born with all-wheel drive! The one greeting this new hatcher flopped itself all over to get around and say high. Once it was fluffy we had to remove it. It wasn't even dry and treated the egg cartons like they were part of the fun! Oh hooray - an obstacle course!
Awe so sweet! <3

I order the SCATT online at www.ladygouldian.com, but ivermectin should work fine at the same dose for treating regular mites. It is available locally at any feed store. Hopefully someone here knows the dose.
SCATT 50ml (1floz) Scaly Face/Air Sac Mite treatment for birds

Scaly Face / Air Sac Mite treatment
Active constituents:

MOXIDECTIN 1000ug/ml
Directions for use:
Scaly Face: Apply in a single application 1 to 2 drops depending on the size of the bird (1 drop per 30g body weight), on the skin of the thigh. Treat all birds, re-assess in 21 days and re-treat if necessary. It may take up to six weeks for effects of the treatment to become noticeable.
Air Sac Mite: Apply in a single application 1 to 2 drops depending on the size of the bird (1 drop per 30g (1.05 ounce) body weight), to the skin of the thigh. For best results ensure re-treatment is carried out 3 to 4 times per year.

The 1% Ivermectin (10mg/ml) dose my vet said I could use is .4mg/kg (.04ml per 2.2 pounds) and that I could give it orally or IM. The pour on is 5mg/ml and I think the instructions for cattle say .5mg/kg, so is that .1ml per 2.2 pounds? I'm tired, so please check my math, lol.

Ok. So it's like frontline plus just a different ingredient. Do you know if it's ok to use even though I used frontline plus?

What's the treatment for the fungal infection you thought about?

I would wait a week to 10 days. It is not a good idea to give chickens too many treatments at one time.

I think Frontline will kill all mites anyway. wait and see how they do.

The multi should be the only thing on your phone. The "light up on the bottom for every one you use. If thats not working you might have a loading problem byc does that to me frequently I have to go back a page and start again.

Have you guys thought about los gatos hills or boulder creek? Its beautiful and great schools. The problems in that area when we were looking waslack of houses.

I vote for Corralitos; it's a small community in the Santa Cruz mountains. It's above Capitola and north of Watsonville. My husband and I live there when we were first married.

Ikeep wanting to open my incubator and candle the eggs to make sure they are okay >_< grr. would it really hurt them though if i did it really fast?

It is best to let them go at this point. Keep looking for pips though. It is very exciting to see the first pip.

Anyone know a source for blue black or splash Ameraucana somewhere in Northern California?

ETA I know @Audio51 has those mottled babies and if she happens to have any girls...no matter the color left over well I would be beside myself to take them off her hands
