I need help withy new genesis. I filled the suggested area, which is highlighted in the pic. I got like 55% humidity.
Emptied that, dried it. Then filled that square right in the middle for 30%. Just add some to one of the rectangles next to it, but I'm thinking that may be too high. Any help would be greatly appreciated . Could those with this tell me what they fill up?
One of my Genesis incubators has a tray like that. Either the center tank or one or two of the tanks on the left or right of center usually works. You do have to fill them every two days.

Currently I am using two of these:

ok, thank you Ron. I was going nuts. So you use 2 of those instead of the bottom trays? Those are the tiny ones right?

That is a different configuration of water wells than my old Genesis. I have eggs incubating in mine right now and keeping the center water well 3/4s full keeps my humidity around 47%. I let it drop to around 35% before adding more water. Now my hygrometer reads 10% low so I have to calculate that on top of what it is reading. The Genesis is harder to keep the humidity at the desired 40% that I can keep my Octagon 20 at with the auto humidity control. I keep the same humidity of 40% for my Marans eggs if they are not shipped and 44% of they are shipped. The Octagon 20 stays at 99.6 throughout incubation and hatch, but my Genesis fluctuates between 98.9 and 99.5 depending on the room temperature.

Hope this helps

Yes, they are the small ones. They fit tipped on the side like in the picture against the side of the incubator next to one side of the egg turner. Each container raised humidity about 5% which will get my incubator to about 35% humidity. They need to be refilled every 5 days or so.

oh, thank you both so much!

That's the one I have too. I have to completely fill the center one and one of the side ones to keep the humidity close to 40%. I haven't tried using the outside wells yet but I'm going to on Thursday night to bump up the humidity since Friday is hatch day!!!! :)
