Bought a new spot check. 3 minutes later mario found it on the top of the megabator. Oh the irony.

It does not hurt to have many spot checks!

I hope yours continues to do well. It is very encouraging he is gaining wieght. I think there may have been a genetic issue with my one-eyed chick though. Wouldn't that to be passed on.

The little Del is a miracle. It is cross beaked and did not pip the shell so the egg tooth did not work. He has been alone since hatching and is getting along fairly well for a singleton. The Cross Beak is not too bad and he can still eat.

I do not go to too much work for chicks like this. they either make it or not. Definitely not going into the breeding program but this is one strong little thing.

Here is the chick hospital this morning. I keep expecting the little silkie not to make it. I though she wasn't going to make it out of the shell. Then, I never thought she was going to make it through the night. She's still fighting. The little white one at the bottom is Pie (Pe-ay), the one that tried to hatch foot first.

I had to look at those pictures again....I thought you had a new species of "Chucks". Then I remembered that you had put little chick shoes on it.

That's how it works up here

Getting ready to load up for 4-H poultry show-and-tell today. It was a fun day doing pedis on 6 bantams by myself Thursday. Only one pooped on me!

I'm not sure if I'm going the the show. I hope she wants them or I will have to get the feed store to take them hopefully.

I,m sure she wants them she is just a crazy 4H Mom with teenage kids like I was. Always running on all fours trying to keep up with everything. She lives in Modesto off of Old Oakdale Rd. but I think she raises some of her chickens at a ranch new the MJC West Campus.

Okay its day 23 with no pips (other then the one internal pip) dp i just leave them or what

Read the guide in my signature to assisted hatching.

It is likely time to check them for life and drill a small hole in the big end.

I am still waiting on pips too!

I'm so sorry for what Kimmie and Aaron are going through. Cancer sucks and I very rarely use that word.

Talking about deals. I just found this one on craigslist and emailed the person. This is not the Hovabator 1588, unfortunately. I think that it is the 1602 but is brand new and comes with a fan kit. Do you think that it is worth the price?

yes, go for it. The turner alone is about $40 if I remember correctly. You could always resell the incubator.
