Thanks....  I don't think I will try it again....at least not with that banty.   I am hoping the last mottled makes it under the Wyandotte. The Cochin was still trying desperately to get back into the pen.  I finally put her in a "Humane" raccoon trap with food and water and put it in the new doghouse on the back porch so the other girls could get back into the pen.  The dogs haven't used yet anyway so I might as well get some use from it.   May have to keep her there for a couple of days.  She seems very determined.  I hear her let out what sounds like an egg song every once in a while to let me know how unhappy she is....
You may even hear her crowing, some of mine do when I take babies away.

Yeah!!!!

None of my Langshans have pipped yet. I hatched one in my last hatch but it was one of two pullet eggs. It didn't even pip until day 22. I'm wondering if they are late hatchers. I guess that I will find out! I have more of their eggs in the next two hatches. That should give me a pretty good idea of how they hatch!

Both of her pigeons got my freshly washed sweatshirt, my odds with the chickens were much better.

Got my fingers crossed up here, bidding on some silver phoenix and d'anvers from Boggy Bottom for DD.

I'm also so thankful for well trained birds. The OEGB's stayed in place the whole 3 hours, even with new kids petting and poking them. They even handled the candy being thrown over them to the kids on the other side of the room. They did sound the alarm when the wild birds flew over the car in the parking lot.

Many appendages crossed for you!
I am so bummed...
I have partridge brahmas and the rooster is over mating the girls:( one hen died already because he made wounds in her sides and her wings covered it and I didn't see until it was too late :( and now another hen has a few spots that her skin tore from him:( I don't know what to do with him. I'm thinking of just ending my brahma adventure...

Can you despur him and dull his toenails? And move a few of your layers in the coop? Might help...

Make that 4 with pips! It is going to be a fun night!
I need to go check on mine!

have you hatched any chicks yet? maybe you can hatch a new one

i'm sure either one probably doing it what do I do about that?
I have a dremel with a sanding disk that can be used on nails and spurs. If you de-spur him he should be separated for a couple of days and the new spur underneath will be really sharp! It will take a couple of days before you can blunt the new spur without it starting to bleed again. A pedi paw will work like a dremel.
