So you had silkies with LF? Now I am all confused.

And what is the business about they aren't supposed to get wet? Do they do a Gremlin thing?
I've always kept all my birds together. From my big LF Cochin, and I've had little D'uccles and Silkies. I haven't had any problems with having them together, they aren't at the top of the picking order, but they have been "part of the group". I haven't heard that they aren't supposed to get wet. Maybe because their feathers are different, so the water soaks in instead of rolling off the feathers?
Maybe mine are especially dumb?

Or Smart. Maybe they are too cool to roost on a pole.

Ahh ok. So not ever in eating eggs or biRds. Check. I will talk to the vet.

I think you just get faliure to thrive chicks. Can be an internal problem Or anything. In the wild they just die. Iggy and ester used to have a few ftt chicks. I had to keep them inside in that very brooder till they were a few months then select families who wanted a pet to baby. I still get pictures of them from people on occation.

@capayvalleychick Dropped off some Lamb for me when she picked up the Dells. I cooked up some for dinner last night. I found a recipe for shoulder steaks but we do not like whole grain mustard or rosemary. I did marinade in lemon juice for several hours and used a Garlic Herb spice along with thyme and black pepper.

the lamb was grilled on my cast iron grill pan to an internal temperature of just over 140 and allowed to rest. They were so good!

Cooking, check out the smoke!

Cooked!
