California - Northern

I'd need plastic surgery, to incubate in my bra. The poor eggs wouldn't have very much cushioning.

So cute, - and serious too!! I think that's her "Blue Steel" Modeling pose. - does anyone else see the resemblance?

Did you just name that chick!

It is now named Zoolander!

I wrote a HUGE spreadsheet today, becuse I have no life and someone asked me to, on the ultra mega chicken emergency cabinet. Anyone want to take a look, edit or ad?

Thank you!

Yes but do better pointy end up.

Those were washed too!
Pointy end up? wouldn't that end up with a chick pipping at the wrong end?

@WendyJeepchick My 10-year-old hopes yours gets a kick out of these photos, too

(What makes you think I dug through my inbox to see whose daughter it was?

) (And yes, my daughter chose the finger-crossing smiley...)

Curry has decided she's a parrot, my daughter says.
Cute pics!

You should check out the Bra Bator thread. It is a hoot. I think the Husband kept the egg warm while she showered.
Hmmm…. Man Boobs???

hoot?? or hooter????

I am keeping two of the chicks I hatched to keep a Cross beaked Delaware company. They are getting along very well. The Del is a weak older than the other two:

I kept one of the Splash UofA blues. This one is quite Spunky:

I have one of the UofA Blues X Crele Penedesencas too. The chicks has a white spot on it's head:

It is quite a poser too:

you are a kind hearted chicken man...this puts you right at your 6 chicken limit right???

See, that is what I get for not thinking clearly.

They will do better if the were stored in the fridge pointy side up before incubating them. The should be set big end up(the end with the air cell) for incubation.

She is a funny gal......LOL
Your new Genesis?

okay tommysgirl I need to talk to you about some California Grays................

Aren't we all?????......LOL
Yeah for you. I love, love, love repurposing things. Especially if it's a good deal.
Yes, the new Genesis electric panel went bad. They are shipping me a new electric heater module thingy. Meanwhile my friend with the sportsman is incubating the eggs to see if they all baked - or if some made it.

Totally cracking me up!

@sewandgrow I will happily regale you with the wonders of CA Greys. They are:

prolific
funny
friendly
small with a good feed conversion
layers of L to XL eggs
in need of saving...no APA so no ALBC recognition

I will give you more details if you want but they are really cool!!

I know the feeling.  I have many dozens of hatches under my belt now and I'm still so excited about hatch day.  I try to be sure to schedule them for a day when I'm sure to be home (like today - Olandsk, D'uccles & Bantam Sumatras pipping and zipping).  :jumpy  My hubby gets caught up in the excitement too and will give me regular updates if I'm outside or gone for some reason.

Looking forward to seeing you again tomorrow Kim!  I'm Karen's road trip partner/driver :)

I am on my third set of olandsk for the season and I can't figure them out. I have a small flock and so plan to run staggered hatches all year till I do! Have you had them long and how is your hatch going?!? Not to many have them AND don't have much breeding info. The olandsk thread is usually empty and stalled! I am determined, my husband called it annoyingly stubborn:-0

Any of your findings would be welcome:)

Okay sooo the scientific side got ghe best of me and i decided to experiment, one of the eggs in my bator cracked a little so i opened a little window of sorts in the part that cracked (didnt harm the yolk or embryo) and im curious if it will continue to grow if not oh well my sciencey side with be pkay with that if it hatches itll be even better
