I may have to get in the bator soon though some are hatching. My plan is to cut small pieces of cloth and damp it in very warm water.
when I grab the chicks put these around the eggs. I will give them till 9 to hatch first. though more keep pipping argh. getting nasty in there even with old pennies.

Make sure the any pips do not get wet. They can die that way.

I grabbed them plus a few eggs that where empty for space. 3 quick squirts . Humidity back up super quick. 3 are mostly out 2 are making good around the eggs. Hopefully the others are gonna get out of it sure they will.

I use the paper cartons in my Farm Innovators for hatching, partly because they only take up 1/3 to 1/2 of the floor space. I have a little cardboard divider I put in next to the hatching carton (held in place by toothpicks that go thru the wire floor) and then I can quickly move hatched chicks over there to dry/fluff without bumping into the ones that haven't hatched yet.

When I use the Brinsea cabinet it has with PVC mesh trays that slats clip into & I use cardboard egg carton bottoms to set the eggs in & secure them in place with the plastic slats.It keeps the cartons from sliding when the whole shelf turns every 45 minutes. They worked well for me & I could just throw the cartns away after hatch. Very little mess at all.

2 of my chicks did that this time & I had the humidity up & never opened the incubator????

Calling all cabinet incubator owners... Which one do you have and how do you like it? I am getting a cabinet to incubate in and using my Genesis huvabator for hatching

I love my Brinsea Ova 190. There was a learning time for sure but got to the point I felt dialed in even with multiple hatch dates. As I have said before if money were no object I would love to have several Brinsea Octagon 20 EX so each hatch could have it's own incubator for turning & humidity changes, but with practice I was getting good results with my 190. Of course I have no need for that many chicks.....LOL Good Luck with a tough decision.

I am full of questions today...I've got another one. 

Does anyone not wash their eggs before eating? I try to, but I constantly forget. I haven't gotten sick or died yet, so I assume that forgetting to wash them before eating isn't THAT harmful, but I'm curious as to what you guys do & what you think.

thanks I need to take some out of the dirty stinky bator but more are hatching some hatched overnight

If your worried do it in the bathroom after a shower. This is why the plate idea is so great. If ypu had a plate you could grab the whole mess and change it!
(I need to find plates with less lip) this is why I Need to find shorter plates.

Ok I have a friend who hatched a chick of mine that is having eye issues. Its trying to walk eat and drink with closed eyes and is clumsy.any ideas besides eye oint MN ent, vitamins have not yet helped.

The eyes are not covered in yolk goo?
