Lizanne, sounds like a good find. I just went and looked them up, single comb RIR bantams were recognized in 1940. I saw a couple of ads on eBay for them but they were lacking the brick shaped body type like Ron's birds have.

I just picked up the eggs. He's really into breeding them, and said they just imported another hen from Canada. He talked about how different "hatchery" RIR's were from the heritage ones. I'll see if I can look up some picks of his birds.

Oh boy, definitely an early bird. I thought I saw a porcelain d'Anvers rocking earlier, I'm sure it was a hallucination.

Oops, I read your earlier post as pipping on day 18.
LOL it's okay its day 19 today and I have 2 now.
