Sometime last year I saw a Guinnea in among a bunch of wild pigeons and had no idea what it was. Very pretty (in its own way) bird. I keep on the lookout for it every time I pass by that flock but I only saw it for a couple of days. I'm learning so much looking at you guys collections of birds. Making me wish I had the kind of farm space you must have.

Guineas make lots of noise. I don't think your neighbors would like you very much............LOL

Cute little things and the eggs they lay are very tasty.

Fantastic idea Ron.......I'll just boil up all these little eggs in lieu of having quail eggs & I will pickle them while I wait for my son's quail to start laying....How smart you are....LOL

Mine has put me on hatching-restriction after about 3 straight months of the 'bator running with Coturnix Quail.  So, I ordered Cornish Rock and Red Ranger chicks from the hatchery to raise out.... She never said anything about ordering chicks....

I'm sure that you will get to the hatching stage sooner rather than later especially if you hang out here with the rest of us hatchaholics!!!    

I knew I was in trouble the other day when I realized my Silkie was trying to be broody and I thought-just for a millisecond- I wonder how many eggs I could fit user that flat little body!

I have always thought that BCMs eggs were the darkest but if your camera shot does them justice those eggs are great & darker than my BCMs. Lucky you....................LOL

On average id say yes. Though Partridge and wheaten Penedesenca lay dark eggs and the Partridge can lay the darkest of any chicken in Spain

I'm in the Placerville area and getting ready to do some serious downsizing of my flock. Out of your list, I have seramas for sure that I plan to reduce my numbers.
