I am fortunate enough that deann is letting me borrow her dicky while she decides what to do with it. This is it compared to my current humidair.

It is like a silkie compared to a muscovy! My electric bill is happy just looking!!!

Wow! That is one huge incubator!

I keep meaning to try to get some BLRW eggs from him, but he never has any when I have space in the incubators...

Found this interesting thread on hatching.
One of the suggestions is sanding dark eggs for hatching, then misting with a iodine/water mix to sanitize. supposedly the sanding helps dark eggs hatch better.
anyone heard of this?

I would be afraid to try that. I would think it would remove the bloom and risk bacteria getting in.

I had my oldest DD take some pictures for me. They are one splash, a Crele Pene x UofA blue and two Blue UofA Blues.












I hatched out about 20 chicks. I wanted to show a representation of them.

Someone had requested pictures of my girl Carolina with a young chick, when I said that she was just curious and didn't try to hurt the young'n at all. Well...pictures coming in a few minutes.

I would be doing a pita pinta dance but the trip has wiped me out ! I'll do the pita pinta head bob instead. We are in love!!!!!

And bonus - I sold some layers ,juvis , and passed along some of @petrocks beautiful pita crosses.
