Okay, so I should probably wait a week or two to put them together?

Oh, and I kept the delicate little leghorns out of that mess.I like to make sure babies are past the delicate stage before putting in with older birds. Once they are zipping around good they do fine. Just recently our brooder had 1 wk, 2.5 week and 4 wk babies. About 50 total. They were fine but I wouldn't put any newly hatched with that melee!
I would a week - but that's just meOkay, so I should probably wait a week or two to put them together?
Would love to see pictures! The first two times I hatched them, they were shipped so I thought it was shipping stress. This is the fourth hatch this year of the UofA Blues and each one has been like this.
They are very healthy too!

As of now, she is big enough to cover them. I don't know about later when they get bigger. I snuck a bantam and silkie egg under her as well.Is she big enough to cover all the chicks? My seremas have been terrible mothers and I have lost chicks. if they are tiny tiny I might ad a lamp if she is having issues.
Serema eggs do better if you can hand turn them I have been told. I would not do anything over 70 humidity for anything just not enough o2 for the eggs.
i recently mixed 4 new hatchlings in with six two-week olds with no problems at all -- a week later added 12 more new hatchlings, so the oldest were 3 weeks, and again not trouble at all -- which is fortunate, as i only have one EcoGlow! but they all snuggled in together.Okay, so I should probably wait a week or two to put them together?

Anyone else have experience doing this? The brooder is large(approximately 4ft by 2ft) so I don't think it would be cramped. I might just play it safe and wait a week, but I may also introduce them and watch carefully to see what they do, and separate at night if it's iffy
There are two things to consider. First, are they coming from the same source or from a different breeder? If they are coming from another breeder, especially an unknown person or if you have not seen their facilities & birds, you should quarantine the new chicks. This will avoid introducing any possible illness to the others. So I'm picking up 7 new chicks tomorrow. They'll be less than a day old, I'm getting them the day they hatch. Do they need to be quarantined first, or can they be put with the 2 or 3 week old chicks I've had for over a week now? The chicks I have now all seem to be very healthy.
