I think one of the new chicks snores. Its sleeping and it is making a little trilling sound. Also something weird about all the buffs they seem to do a lot of sleeping standing up where as the del's would just plank. The buffs do it too but especially these new ones they are so tuckered they go to sleep standing. All 4 of them were standing leaning on each other at one point. It was kind of funny. The 2 week olds seem to be just fine with the fuzz balls underfoot. No aggressive pecking just the "Hi. Who are you?" kind. One of the fuzzballs seems to think its a big kid now it started following the bigger ones around and they are all getting on just fine so far.

So happy to hear that. It is always so nice when everyone decides to just get along together........as in life....!!!

Well one of the little chicks is quite brave. One of the older ones was giving it a little investigative pecking and it pecked right back and the investigation stopped.

Looks like incubation with 42% humidity and 70% humidity for hatching has worked so far (we'll see how the other 16 do) for the shipped d'Anver eggs. I think my non shipped d'Anver eggs had problems hatching because they were pullet eggs and the inner membrane was too tough.

Today just must be a hatching day all around. I have Delawares out, Orps (look like Splashes) Marans & Ams. I think there are 15 out of 20 so far & another one working on it, another Orp....

This is lockdown day for the Easter Hatch A Long. Still, lots of hatching going on there too already

Both hatches were d'Anvers and incubated with the same humidity of 42%. The only difference was my d'Anver eggs were pullet eggs. I am sure that may hold true for certain breeds though.

Good thought Ron. I had by best luck in my cabinet Brinsea with humidity at 50 to 55 throughout.

Anyone here who knows how to dub OEGB's? I've been trying to make myself not be squeamish about it, but ever since I heard that it isn't rare to have a bird die from blood loss, I don't even want to try it.
