Just got my two gorgeous English jubilee/blue cross pullets! They're 4/5 months old. Should they be housed with my adult jubilee rooster and his Ameraucana hen girlfriend or should I put them with my seven 3 month old juveniles?

I would put them with the ones to whom they are closest in size. I am guessing that would be the adults??

Apparently two of the cream legbar pullets hatched out white? Is that the recessive white sport gene? anyone know? Since they are going to be urban hens with no rooster, they will just be pretty backyard lawn ornaments, but I did find it interesting! YAY Fuzzbutts!!

Woo Hoo!!!

Quote: I agree...if no one is complaining, I say go for it. Just be prepared that you may have to rehome them.

I think what you mean to ask is sex link.

Basically it's an auto-sexing cross breed.  There are various breeds of chickens that can be crossed and when their chicks hatch, you can tell what sex they are immediately based on color or markings.

When you get a chick from the feed store like a Red Star, Black Star, Production Red, etc. those are sex-links.  They are crossbred, but their looks are standard within the cross and they are heavy producers of eggs.

Hope that helps.

Deb

She told me sexlet a I've heard of them, but they lay huge brown eggs!
