I have 2 hatched and 3 pipped from my Meat bird eggs!

I started with 12 but one was clear, One is yellow and one marked similar to a BCM. They are Cornish/Rock/Wyandotte mix.

wanna know something funny? I was thinking about your meat birds this morning and wondering if they were who you had set for the EHAL. Hope you continue to get more and more. If you have girls they would make fantastic layers and possible broodies wouldn't they?

My Easter hatch is still on!

Delawares are kicking butt again. They are amazing. I set 21 and moved 17 to the hatcher on day 19. 14 have hatched already. of the 3 left, one has a pip so it should hatch soon. I candled one of the two without pips and a chick is moving in it.

Dorkings had 12 moved to the hatcher on day 19 with 7 out and two more pips. If 9 make it, it will be the biggest number to hatch so far!

Woot...just put 8 of Harriet's (got her from Kim) eggs under one of the Dorkings I got from Kim this afternoon...they will either be Dels or Red Stars either way I am happy

I have been working hard the past 3 years to get to this point with them.

That must be why I like it! It looks like my mottled Pita Pinta chicks!

Hmm. My OE was in the coop with her and some days she has speckled eggs and somedays they aren't speckled but she doesn't lay the color I green most EE's lay. I suppose it IS possible that was Ellie's egg. Ill take another look in my egg carton. I didn see them before hand because she was sitting in that box already.

Is the egg "Sage" green? If so, it could be Ellie's. The young buff pullet I have here lays a sage green egg.

The Dels have been very good this year. The SG Dorkings have had too many clears. This time more than half were clears. The ones that are fertile do well though.

I am hoping that the batch of eggs I set the 11th have better fertility. I will candle them soon to see.

Good news! This batch of SG dorkings have almost 100% fertility! 25 SG Dorking eggs were and two were pulled on day 7--one blood ring so it was fertile and one clear so only one was not fertile!

This might be a very good hatch!

Ohh, they are doing wonderful! such joys to have.. All are busy growing their cheeks and beards, and their colours are simply gorgeous. For 9 wk. old chicks, they are quite nice size. I have been taking your chicks' photos once a week to see their development. Last week, I transferred them to the large cage in the chicken house, but they were terrified; had to bring them right back into my studio. I mean; they were standing right by the cage door, lined up right next to each other, making the saddest, loudest chirps and trying to jump out when ever they took a glimpse of me. Well, at this point, I have no idea when they will be moved back out again : ) Lual

Hey there....No, I am actually moving because my Ex is moving there and I think it is important for my daughter to have both of her parents close by.  

I am starting to get a little worried though.  I think Tex-*** (hehe) is prone to have quite a bit of the "Good Ole Boys Club" in business, and since I have lived 90% of my life in CA, I am not certain how that is going to go over.  California is a bit more progressive in a lot of ways, and I have a big mouth. So it wouldn't probably be a good combination.

It would be over to the Houston area.  I have my priorities however; and am researching the heat hardy breeds so I know what I can have when I get there and get settled.  

I won't be leaving the Northern California thread no way.  There are too many valuable, genuinely nice people on this thread.  Other threads can be scary mean! 

I would just like to say that I think that is awesome! It is so rare that you see parents of divorce sacrifice for their children. You are a wonderful mom! And you are right they are still a little good old boy , even in Houston. But cost of living is so much better. I love Houston, but my favorite area is the Hill Country! Beautiful and quaint! I wish you the best of luck! Have fun exploring a new State and I'm glad you'll be keeping up with the thread!

As a side note...I'll be heading to Reno next Friday leaving Pleasanton at 0 dark thirty. I'm going for a contest, so I have to arrive by 9:00am. May not help anyone in this area trying to get things North, but if someone needs anything brought back down here on Sunday let me know.I'll try to get my schedule firmed up.
