So I had one chick hatch for the Easter hatch. Luckily Papa Brooder was in town, so I was able to pick up some friends for her. She is the little red one on the top left. I was able to get some BLRW's, some EE's, a Blue copper Marans, and a Speckled Sussex.

Can you divide the brooder?  Maybe with wire so they can share the warmth?

Edited to add:  Or can you make one of the heating pad brooders in a plastic bin?

I have a bin I'll try putting in for the "brooder within a brooder" scenario. I talked one of my neighbors into coming over to check on them throughout the day tomorrow. *fingers crossed* poor little buggers.

Very cute! I want some BLRW too......Can;t afford chicks with shipping and he never seems to have eggs whren I have room in the incubator.

According to chicken math, the cockerels do not count and each breed counts as one, so you are barely over your limit too!

I have noticed the tail feathers growing faster on some breeds, but not all. I know that with all the Cornish-X that I've had the girl get tail feather a good week before the boy's even start.
