I bought some new Vetwrap ans was able to "hobble" it (that's an understatement. There is the poor thing.
Thanks....I really think she looks adorable too

Quote: I got them from Papa Brooder. The 7 of 12 I pulled a few days back I did eggtopies one There were 3 very early quitters......like day 6 or 7....and other 4 appeared infertile or just did not start for some reason. These were the eggs that got knocked around when the turning cradle broke so I was worred none would hatch. I can't wait to see what #3 looks like. Can anyone tell what colors these 2 will be?

Okay, there is most definitely movement in several of my eggs. The Tolbunt Polish is especially wiggly! I could see a little shadow moving around in there...it was so beautiful. I had to take a video to share with my best friend. It's been almost exactly 8 days since they were set, but today is counted as day 7 since I set them so late that day. This is such an amazing thing to experience!
Yes! I have seen movement that early. But I hope you are watching thru the incubator window an not lifting that lid........

After today's vet appt. the phoenix cockerel is wearing shackles. He believes it is splay leg rather than a slipped tendon. His legs are being held parallel with a foam pad, he wasn't sure it will correct or not but there was no breaks, swelling, and he didn't react like there was pain when being manipulated. He impressed them with his demeanor through the whole thing, his short nap while being held may have had something to do with it.

Has anyone else had splay show up at 7/8 weeks?
I have one fixed before 3 days old. I hope they can fix his!

Audio,
You have a splash and with mine the other would be a blue, if the down on the thighs and fluff (bottom) are blue in color.

Does anyone have a used Eglu go for sale? I'm looking for a second, small, easy to clean coop for quarantines,
and for any times when I might need to separate my birds. Thanks!!

p.s. sorry if this is the wrong place to post. I'm kind of new here =)

I think there has been one on the SF Bay Area Craigslist. The last time I noticed it was within the past week, but it isn't there now.. Maybe the listing expired and it will appear again, or maybe you could post a "wanted" listing.

… unless you bought the one that was there and are looking for another one

I'm thinking it was in the Redwood City or San Mateo area, but don't remember the details.

This is the perfect place to post questions like this.

I hope you find one!

2 BLRW out!

P**ssed off broody hen. One more egg pipped. I now at least one of the other 2 eggs probably will not hatch (looked like a qutter but I put it under her anyway). Not sure on the 5th egg...

Yay! My broody hatches her chicks tomorrow!

So is it just me or does this look like a frizzle?
Yep, a frizzle!

Inwrongcountry,
I don't think a day or two difference in age will make much difference.
There is always a top chicken even with all hens/pullets.
Escaping is high on the list here also, followed closely by hide behind the washing machine.
Not sure what the temps are doing overnight in the bay area but they do have each other to snuggle up with.

Thanks for the responses! I'll keep my fingers crossed for a big-combed girl, but I'll start thinking about what to do if he's a him.

Another question (it seems like as soon as I get one question answered, I have another), one of the chicks is sneezing "wet." A couple sneezed initially when I changed a large amount of bedding, I assume because of dust. It's only one now, the darker EE. She's 3 weeks old. What do I do?

Welcome to the group! Are you thinking of "Igloo" like a dog house or "Igloo" like and ice chest?
