I'm so torn. My family is going on a family vacation to Hawaii, and I have until Sunday to decide if I want to go or not. One one hand...it's Hawaii! On the other, I have pretty debilitating health problems, IBS and anxiety, so I don't think I would have fun. I don't know if my dogsitter is able to take on all 3 dogs that I have right now(my dog and 2 fosters) AND the only person I know of that can take care of my chickens and chicks is my neighbor. She's willing to help, but knows nothing about caring for chickens.
Ugh. What would you guys do?

I would go. I imagine it would be a lot easier to go on a pre-planned trip with your family, who are aware of your health constraints, than to plan a trip on your own. If you have friends and neighbors who are willing and able to take care of your animals, all you need to worry about is what to pack. :)

Ok I have 1 chick that won't shut up for nothing.
Same one. Has food , water and brinsea heat pad which is warm.
Even changed it to another brooder box. Like the last hour goes on spats of annoying cheeping.

Does it stop when you pick it up?

It may just be missing you. Check for pasty butt and it would not hurt to give it a drop of vitamins.

Do not go by behavior. EEs can be a bit more flighty, or high energy. They can sometimes be bossy too.

If the chick came from a feed store or hatchery as a pullet, then I see nothing that would change that yet. Sometimes, depending on the cross that made the EE, you can tell by counting the pees. A single row would be a pullet while three or so rows would be a cockerel.

It does not look like a wide pea comb to me so? The legs are bit larger but?

You will know soon enough. EEs crow fairly early.

Thanks for the feedback! It was hard to tell for a bit, but her comb is no larger/redder than the other EE, and same leg thickness too, as far as I can tell. She has yellower legs, but that has always been the case.

My phone is not posting a photo, I'll get one later.

No pasty butt
And gave vitamins.
Looks great otherwise. Just won't be quiet for anything. Really weird.
And I'm about to post Ron babies :)

You need a Silkie to foster that one for a couple of days.

It should stop chirping like that soon--they do that sometimes.

Here is the cry baby. Fine now that it's on my lap. Really strange how it won't keep quiet in the brooder

Oh my they are so nice looking!

I can't wait to see the OE eggs!

They really are pretty! Wish I had room for the UofA boys, they are even prettier in person!
And I'm anxious for OE eggs!
