I have 13 week old buff orps as fosters for someone. Im getting suspicious about one or two of them actually being roo's They are hatchery chicks sold as pullets so I wouldnt suspect.

Their combs and wattles seem to be amlost in line with my redder dels at a comparable age. They are supposed to come get them soon so I really don't want to sell them a cockerel if I can avoid it.

Should i be able to tell by hackle and saddle feathers at this age?

I found a picture of them at 17 weeks:

at 13 weeks old you would have to go by comb and wattles.

This helps my 2 are at 17 weeks and maybe a little more red than yours but im sure they are pullets. Since they are all from the same hatchery ill have closer look tonight might be worrying for nothing.

BTW is that a lavender next to them?

I thought my little black rock bantam was only kidding about sitting in the dust bath hole. I went out today and found her walking around with two chicks. They were quite well-behaved, she pecked the ground and called and they came running!!!

Very cute little things!

they are not my chickens- I found the picture for reference.

The other chicken looks lavender but you would have to check the shaft color to know for sure.

Here is more information on blue vs lavender

That is a great story!

I have three hatched in the incubator. One of them may be a cream legbar. I have pips in 3 of 4 OE Project eggs too. The Pita Pintas have not started yet.
