Has anyone had a pullet act odd after being mounted by a cockerel?

I know, strange question, but I have a pullet who walks (when she walks; she spends the majority of her free-range time laying down) stiffly, and on her toes with her wings hanging. This happened after I saw my big Brahma mount her yesterday. She was perfectly fine before.

You need to give her a rest as it sounds like he is a bit big or heavy for her ......

They come from a BBS Ameraucana pen that has EEs in it as well but I think 2 are AM and 1 is an EE I don't care I just want more colored eggs and I want them from Blue birds

My AM's were crazy (3/4).
But this new batch has crosses from them. Giving mealworms and sprouted grains has them standing on my shoes and pecking at the shoe laces. It's nice to have tame birds this go around. I got 3 blue and 1 black OE cross (AM/Marans) . Still needing true blue AM's, but these will hold me over

LOL!!! I thought they were some special breed. I want colored eggs too. One of my broodies is an AM so no blue eggs from her right now. I have the mottled coming up on POL soon but not yet. My FBCM that actually lays dark eggs is also broody and is the one that will get chicks as soon as I can get some. Most of what I am getting are various shades of light brown and 1 blue about every other day.

Hey when a hen is working on laying an egg especially in the first few eggs. Will she open her mouth like she is trying to swallow something stuck.
I was something Lurk was doing when I was observing her in the coop before she laid her 3rd egg. Made me think she was in something akin to labor pains and she was working things along.

Those burned areas are scary looking. Are they close to you?

no I'm like 8 miles northeast. Linda here was probably only a mile or so away

Is the comb pail?

If so, she may have an internal injury or even an organ problem.

The open mouthed breathing without prior symptoms is not a good sign.

See if she will drink water and make her comfortable.

Thanks! I have all of the 6 week + olds corralled right now in the same pen. I am working on the hand feeding making friends thing. The cutest most friendly is an Ice Cream Bar from Laura. but wouldn't you know...that bird is all boy.

It is hard to tell with EEs. One way is to count the peas--Males have three rows and females have 1 or at least less the three.

Thanks I think I only see one ridge on each. My daughters say the same. We definitely don't see 3 here are a couple more shots. of two of them
