California - Northern

We are all becoming magnesium deficient. Even the reference numbers have gone down from 1950s for what is normal.

I started taking magnesium citrate from Costco and am already sleeping better.

Magnesium's on my list of supplements too.

You can't trust the listing of minerals that are in a food because it all depends on what is available in the soil. Vegetations grown in mineral deficient soil are deficient, animals fed that vegetation are deficient. Doesn't matter what the government chart says is in there.

@SpringPeeper Valley View Farms on Facebook (NorCal Rare Breed Poultry page) just posted Dark Cornish chicks, they're in Oroville. (Never bought from them so don't know quality, etc)

That's who I'm getting my Lakenvelder eggs from. Getting 8+
Can anyone speak for the quality of Valley View Farms chickens? Good or bad, or decent?

A little help on a descriptor for this guy's color. Would it be:

A) Splash
B) Blue Mottled
C) Mille
D) Calico
E) None of the above

Thanks! I'll check how many she has. When she advertised last time she only had one dark Cornish chick. Crossing my fingers.

My baby sister just picked up the Coturnix from @Audio51 for me! She's tormenting with pictures. I was going to pick them up tomorrow, but I may have to find a way to convince my husband to drive over and get them tonight!

Quote: I bought FBCM pullets from her a year or so back and have been happy with the quality. I only kept 1 and she has good coloring and lays a nice # 4-5 egg early in her cycle. I was not concerned with SOP though.

LOL!!!! I'm glad they all arrived safely. I had to put them in 3 boxes and wasn;t sure they would all fit in the car since they had the fog in the back seat. Your sister is very nice, BTW. I think she and my daughter would get along well
