California - Northern

My heart fluttered when I saw the picture, not many bantam partridge rocks around. I had to go in and check my pictures, Ginger was edited out but it is my sweet Fred's picture.

On the odd roosting, at least my worst is that they wont go inside the coop and perfer to sit on the "porch".

Im getting a pretty good rate of 4 egg days since the 5 egg day so I figure that the buff is only laying infrequently still. Its getting on to fall so things are expected to slow a little.

so far we have been getting 20-25 eggs in a week with only the the 4 delawares and now one buff orp laying. one more buff orp old enough to be laying but hasnt made a move yet. 2 more birds only about 16 weeks (Pita and CB) Hope they will lay by thanksgiving.(but fall/winter might do that in)

Looks like time for some more chicks soon.

Congrats! It's a nice feeling knowing that if worse came to worse - at least there's food!

Good to know I'm not the only one having chick withdrawals!

I am in the Bay Area and I am in desperate need!! I have to find a new home for my Silkie chickens that I adore. My son has been diagnosed with Asthma and it seems the chickens are the problem. I have 3 (2 egg laying hens and 1 rooster) about 10 months old. I would like them to go together. All are very friendly due to lots of human contact, my rooster even likes to be brushed.. Please help I have to do this soon !!

Welcome!

I hope you find a home for them.

Are you going to get chickens that are not pets and keep them outside away from the house?

If you son has asthma there are lots of other triggers--moving from hot to cold and etc.

My youngest DD had asthma as a toddler. She out grew it by the second grade so hopefully your son will out grow asthma too.

I wish I could take them but my coop is already bursting at the seams right now. Please PM me and I will see if I can help you at all. Silkies are such sweet birds so hopefully I can help you find them a home.

This made me chuckle.

It didn't quote the right part but gratz on the processing. Makes the whole rooater thing much less crazy stressful.
I was just checking out bantam eggs on eBay. I was quite surprised to find a picture of my Fred sireing eggs in LA since I lost him over a year ago! Is swiping photos common?

Yes it is but photoshopping nor so common.
