That's exactly what I thought! Free protein! We have lots of black widow spiders around here and I always call the girls when I find one. The smart ones run and grab it before any of the other ones figure out what is going on!

I'm getting ready to ship out eggs to tommysgirl! Should I mark anything on the outside box? Fragile? Hatching eggs? I have read page after page about shipping but there are so many different opinions out there!

Thank you so much for posting this. I live in the woods with tons of predators & the flock has to remain in a large run. This product would really help in this rainy weather. We have wood shavings with small rock through out the run, layers added as needed. With this product it will insure a healthier environment.

I'm not sure, they end up in the wood stove usually. They are not a critter we want here, they feed on the cambian layer. We find most of them in firs and pines. I'll see if I can find his beetle key, Eric is at a noxious week conference in Corvallis for the next few days.

I saw a notice about that conference when I was looking up my weeds. After reading the noxious and invasive weed lists I came away convinced I have some of everything on the list! I want a flame torch

We had the big part of the front today. It stretched way out into the Pacific.

I had to move the chicken tractor this morning--mucking it out in a flooded area. Luckily the wheels worked or it would have been brutal.

Thank you my friend, I bought a little Giants air forced incubator and I have the temp set at 99.5 and I need to know the safe range of control it has dropped two degrees and has risen .3 degrees the humidity range fluctuates from 57%to82% my elevation is 1421. Ambient temp out side is 57% the ambient and the ambient temp is 70% at the location of the incubator and I do not know the humidity level? What is a safe range? Will this fluctuation cause any defects, bowing of extremity's, legs toes wing's etc.? Thank you for responding my friend

The temperature should stay withing one degree of 99.5. Temperature drops of 2 degrees for long periods during incubation will cause delays in hatching and sometimes the chick will stick to the shell and they will sometimes have egg yolk not absorb. Foot deformities are more often genetic or flock nutrition related.

Humidity for incubation is a bit high. If possible, fill a smaller tank. Humidity comes from surface area and not volume.

The elevation is fine for hatching eggs. Problems start at the 4000 foot elevation and gets worse the higher you go.
