I also eat lots of garlic in my diet, and often add vitamin C powder to juice that I drink. The chickens have the same in their diet, minus the juice. I really like the Dawe's supplements for birds. They seem to be better than most. I have a couple hens that decided to moult late, and I always supplement 3-4 days a week whether the season is hot or cold.

Which Dawe's product do you use and where do you get it?

Im seeing people of FB feed their chickens Sardines(no added salt), tuna(packed in water), salmon and wet catfood. for extra protein during molt.

Anyone here do that. Im wondering if it might help my birds who went into late molt recover faster?

I would not do that. Wet cat food has something in it that is not good for them and canned fish has a lot of mercury which can be magnified with little bodies.

Get some Neutrina feather fixer. It works amazingly well.

Im having a hard time finding a feed store locally that carry's it.

See if you can get TSC to order it in for you. They area Dealer for Neutrena.

I used it in the Fall. Hibgy's in Dixon had some in then. The Neutrena website has a search for dealers lookup on it.

I use Avio-gel+Avio-Moult since it mixes well and adheres to feed. I feed that 4 times a week. Birds eat more and drink less in cold weather. I use a poultry vitamin like STRESSEEZ in waterers 3-5 days a week depending on moulting or weather extremes. I have used Kal nutritional yeast powder mixed with 8 tsp of wheat germ oil mixed well in feed in the past. The problem with that is too much oil, and poor adherence of the powder to feed. I don't recommend cat food.
