See if you can get TSC to order it in for you. They area Dealer for Neutrena.

I used it in the Fall. Hibgy's in Dixon had some in then. The Neutrena website has a search for dealers lookup on it.

The closest TSC is 30 miles away from us here in Antioch.

I saw it locally this year, but had moult supplement stocked for the year already. The organic lay ration I use has 17% protein, so I didn't see the need for it. I based the regiment of supplementation I use from a pigeon moult program and have found it works very well the last couple years, especially for late and hard moulters.

With the supplementation and protein level you have with the organic feed you would not need the feather fixer. The feather fixer has that stuff in it but is not organic.

The good thing is that both your program and the feather fixer are for birds, not cats. There is poultry science used in feed formulations so they have been studied to work with birds. Cat food not so much.

I've been mixing King Freedom layer pellets with starter crumbles in the feeders and oyster shell on the side for the layers. I have a few broody raised chicks running around with the adults and struggle with keeping their food separate. I was on the King Feed website this morning and I see that they do have the Freedom feed in 20% protein broiler crumbles. I'm going to check with Scott's Valley Feed to see if they carry it.

I was using King Organic feeds for awhile until a big lump of moldy feed appeared midway through a bag I was using. That was likely the shipper/stocker and not the mill. Their organic Starter/ Grower was top notch, and I raised a few batches of chicks on it. A local feed store here carries some of it, but were not consistent. I've found Modesto Milling to be consistently good, but more palatable, compared to Bar Ale's product. I use layer pelllets and do not like waste. I also want to see a milling date on the feed tag.

Concord Feed carries King Feed now but they are often out of the starter. They told me that they don't order much starter this time of year since it is not chick season. I wish someone had given my broodies that memo! I still have DH stop and pick up feed at Scott's Valley Feed, however, because it is $3 per bag cheaper. We picked up quite a few bags at Concord Feed's semi anual sale but when those are used up, we will be going back to Scott's Valley.

I can't tell you how many bags of King feed that I've purchased and never had anything wrong with it. I have purchased barley from King Feed that has had weevils in it. The feed store owner took the blame for having old bags. I used to feed mine Modesto Milling before switching to King Feed. I've thought about switching back but for now I'm happy with how my flock is doing on their current feed.
