I have been busy this weekend and it is good that I have the day off.

I processed the last Cream Legbar cockerel, cleaned up the layer yard, moved the three Cream Legbar pullets out to the layer pen and moved the New years day hatch out to the garage. The moves have been successful! The layer flock is very used to new hens being moved in and out of it and the Cream Legbars are a good size already.

Off to get pictures and finish cleaning out the brooder!

I know I may want one. I need to talk to my wife we may want to try some eggs in one for my sons homeschool project.

I have read about people waiting months to a year for a SandHill order and wind up not getting what they wanted.

Urch has breeds that win at poultry shows. Sandhill does not breed to standard but is a preservation place.
I sent it in November, and they have said they have me slated for 'late' this year (I am supposed to have a confirmation letter with date this week) so it sounds like I will be waiting close to a year. I knew about the long wait time going in. I had heard they were generally pretty good conformation-wise unless noted in their catalog, however. I don't show, but I'll be pretty bummed out if I end up shoddy birds though. A bit more than I usually like to go through to get chicken and dumplings.

I took pictures today!
