California - Northern

Ron answered it better, she might be hungry and think its food. Or be playing with it, min sometimes toss grit and oyster shell around and run like its treats.
I have been around and noticed i have not been posting much! I bought some new silkies at the show today, and had a few people call me for Marans eggs at later dates. that was exciting! Ill try and participate more!
I really like your silkies! They are gorgeous! I need to figure a way to have some. I'm just worried they would be too docile for my other breeds.
I told dan the frizzle splashes look like a fluffy toy dog. I might be able to pass it off as one and keep it in the house, lol! If he didn't see those today, probably could have tricked him for a good year into thinking we got another house dog ;)

Thanks Chris......it was nice to see you at the show today. We were talking about another chicken party. I think it will be planned for the last week end in April or the first week end in May. Keep an eye out for further notices. Jules (fortyfivefarms)  & Dyann (Chooklet) will be organizing it again.
it was nice seeing all of you that were there. We have to do another meetup.

Here's me and my DH at the show. He's not into chickens but is hugely supportive of my coops (in building them)

I was there. I was wearing a green sweatshirt. I was talking with Kern and Lisa. I'm sorry I missed you.

Me too......Did you buy any birds & if so what? We are planning another party here for the Spring. Maybe you we be able to attend & get to know more of us. My friend on Central came last year & will be invited again this year. She drops in off & on & just recently wrote asking for Palm turkey eggs. She has an eclectic collection of chickens plus & likes to play around hatching.
My son now cares for the chickens I have. I spend most of my time indoors doing crafts now. Some of my chicken lovin' friends like to do them with me so we get together to play & talk "chicken"....LOL

It was nice meeting those of you that I could today. I always enjoy putting a face to the names and stories.

yes! That sounds fun. I did get chickens from @TheKeeper. A chocolate orpington pullet and a blue Wheaton ameraucana pullet. My first chickens!

I believe I may have standing behind you for a bit. I was trying to say hello to everyone but when I turned from many conversation most people where gone. :(

Bantam welsummers do not have the egg color like Large fowl do.

It was nice meeting all of you today!
I sat next to you at your right in the snack bar. Neal wanted us to each stand up & introduce ourselves & say where we were from but it didn't happen. We all did that at the first chicken party we had here a few years back but last year we were all so busy buzzing around & there were so many of us we never got around to it but we did wear name tags with our BYC names & our real names & city I think. We will have to work on a way to have everyone know who everyone else is.

My husband is the same way & will build anything I want but won't participate socially. He is soooooooooooo much better off at home. At least your husband came with you...poor guy , I don't think he got a word in edgewise.....LOL Nice seeing you there

I wasn't able to be there, sad for that, but at least I have a new face to put to a name and a glimpse of the show!
It's nice to read everyone's input.

You are so lucky that your husband will build coops for you, that is my biggest hurdle.

btw - did you work some magic on your picture? I love how the foreground/people look so bold compared to the background.

it was nice, but last year there were more birds. Possibly AI scare or (Shantih's theory) Super Bowl priorities worked their undoing .
Yes I think I've maxed my DH out on coops. Well, for a whole at least ;)

I used his iphone for a selfy. It was in the HDR setting and I think like one of those filters.

I hope we can all get together more often. It's nice talking in person with all of you awesome folks!

hangtown. golden works. where are they located?
Placerville area I think. ill message her to make sure she has him still. ( was last weekend when she took a crele penedesenca and said she had him)

Today I got my biggest egg ever from my flock, 93 grams (all the way on the right).
I candled it & it's a double-yolker!
And so is the marans egg to it's left.
Not sure which one laid it - maybe my big cuckoo orp?
Yippee!
nice
