Anyone ever open up the washing machine and find a bunch or egg shell fragments in there after washing the jacket they wear out to the coop in the morning? Just curious.

For those that weren't there today, a massive Australorp beat out the amazing white rock pullet for Champion Large Fowl (which did surprise me, I thought the white rock would have won):
Australorp

The White Rock, Champion American:

Both of these birds were absolutely massive.

thanks for the pics and narrative

One of my pullets that was a cross of an Crele Penedesenc x Amelia hens(crele penedesenca x Cream Legbar) laid an egg today. It is the best Olive color yet!

The egg on the left is a Partridge Pene pullet egg. the egg on the right is 54G and a first pullet egg!

So that was lucky she got a blue and maybe a double brown set of eggshell genes? Such a pretty olive color.

Thanks everyone! Keep the pictures coming! :D

All beautiful birds so far.

I brought home a bantam cornish and a cuckoo d'anvers from the show.
I will get pictures tomorrow.
I adopted a MASSIVE french black copper maran roo from Kern. He's been de-crowed and all you hear is a breathy squeak. I have named him Jean-Luc, tipping my hat to Star Trek TNG.
I will post a video when i get a good one.
My turkey are very curious about him - they are almost the same size. Seems to me that he can't wait to get out of quarantine to join his new harem. :)

I had the most delightful morning greeting from my incubator - the peeping of a new Old English Game bantam. Followed in a couple hours by a silkie, a silkie cross & 2 showgirls. This evening i have 2 more silkies, another showgirl and more pips...hope i can sleep...pics tomorrow...

Oops!
Lol - i've almost had that happen a couple of times but caught them before they went through the wash.

 yep...several times, LOL.

Still excited about the chicken show. Got there at 7:30 Saturday and left about 2:30. Got to talk with Dave Huggins from the Gold Country for quite a while. Really a nice guy. I guess I was talking with him at another table while a lot of you were at the other table. By the time Dave and I got through talking and I went over to the other table some of you were getting ready to leave. Darn! Meet Chris, Neal, Lisa, Tarron, Shantih, Dave and Chrissy R. Really sorry I missed some of you. Looking forward to the next meeting. Anybody traveling through Newman, please let me know. Kern
