California - Northern

Sorry that I missed several of you at the show. This is a very busy show for me. I loved the venue as it was all in one building and look forward to next years APA National meet.

One of my pullets that was a cross of an Crele Penedesenc x Amelia hens(crele penedesenca x Cream Legbar) laid an egg today. It is the best Olive color yet!

The egg on the left is a Partridge Pene pullet egg. the egg on the right is 54G and a first pullet egg!
Nice egg!

Good seeing you again.

So nice to see you again too Walt. Thanks for all of your help, giving me your thoughts on my birds, and answering all of my pesky questions.

How about Sequoia National Forest - Porterville, Camp Nelson, Ca

My fault, I had way too many questions.

The venue was great once I found it. It took me about 45 minutes to figure out how to get back there!

I was at the show at around 10 am, bought a Serama cockerel and a pullet, looked at some chickens, and unfortunately had to leave shortly after. Did anyone else see the peacock that escaped and was up on the wall? lol

There were two peafowl up in the rafters. They escaped from the sales area.

Very nice Ron................I am trying not to get too enthuse again. I have been so good about letting go.....LOL

I brought home a bantam cornish and a cuckoo d'anvers from the show.
I will get pictures tomorrow.
I adopted a MASSIVE french black copper maran roo from Kern. He's been de-crowed and all you hear is a breathy squeak. I have named him Jean-Luc, tipping my hat to Star Trek TNG.
I will post a video when i get a good one.
My turkey are very curious about him - they are almost the same size. Seems to me that he can't wait to get out of quarantine to join his new harem. :)

I had the most delightful morning greeting from my incubator - the peeping of a new Old English Game bantam. Followed in a couple hours by a silkie, a silkie cross & 2 showgirls. This evening i have 2 more silkies, another showgirl and more pips...hope i can sleep...pics tomorrow...
Love the name!!! We are big Star Trek TNG fans here! Congrats on the chicks, too! I have some due to hatch Friday

Here are pic of my new birds:

a buff laced red bantam cornish

Her tail's pretty busted up but it'll molt back in eventually.

and here's a cuckoo bantam d'anvers

so soft & quite chatty

and my new cuddle-bug, Jean-Luc, a french black copper marans roo (thank you again @KernH )

his coloring is so gorgeous & those amazing saddle & hackle feathers - I'm so in love with him
