California - Northern

Ok - "Jean-Luc Peck-ard" (French black copper marans roo) & I just had a brief intense discussion of who is in charge of this coop.
I won.
Naughty boy...don't test this crazy chicken lady.

I still laugh every time I see your rooster's name!

Love it! The only way I can keep one of my LF roosters from coming after me is to wave a piece of fabric at him and chase him off.

How are the d'Anver pullet and bantam Cornish doing?

Hello Northern California! I am north of Sacramento in the "Foothills"! as a retired RN, I am very happy to be able to seek other joyful

endeavors, besides helping people. I have always loved animals & am happy to have had the $$$ to build a 15' pyramid for my

chickens!! They are cool in the 100+/- days in the summer, with the window AC & do not get cold in the winter, with their "Radiator" type heater!

One of the beat ideas I had was to raise the structure off the ground! They have stainless steel pans for food & H2O under there! they

like to be under the pyramid. Although there is a fence with wrought iron gates 50' on a side they do go outside the fenced area to eat grass!

If I happen to not be outside at sunset, they go into the pyramid themselves! Take care. Hope to hear from near-by people, Sincerely P

Please post pics as she grows up! (Who did the eggs come from again?)
I have a silver partridge pullet that startd like that I think. I should get a pic of her. I will be sorry to pull apart the madness pen for real breeding pens this year.

Oops, I thought you said Blue was recognized? Maybe this one is more lavender? She might have a black one I'll ask her. This is our first year showing as you can probably tell, lol. :)
Self blue is lavendar. you also want AMERICIAN orphs, not ENGLISH orphs. theya re more of a challenge to find, but its worth it! Lisa might have some too, But dont start AOV (NSV), its too complicated, lol.
