If anyone is interested in Dorkings for layers, or some cockerels, I have an ad here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/953313/silver-gray-dorking-pullets-cockerels-delaware-cockerels
I would consider it for my Brother in law your birds are beautiful. And the Dorking girls are so pretty.

Dont think I can get them for a while though. Dont wait on me Ill check later if you still have them. BTW the 2 I got are eating (mostly mash) but they havent laid since the first couple of days. Probably the move may take them a bit to settle in.

They have been having playtime with the other birds and they are scared of them now. A couple of the older birds put them in their place. Nothing serious. We are going to try haveing the pens open to each other this weekend.

I'd say my new girls are settled into quarantine...

I saw the remains of a soft-shell egg first thing this morning, too.

Nice eggs!

:thumbsup. That is great that he listens!
thank you. It was a pleasant surprise ;)

@ronott1 What color might I expect a Ro from your Ark Blue to be? If solid, I might try hatching cross links from my California Gray and Barred Rock hens next year.
The Arkansas blues are Blue, Black and splash. I will have all Blue and Splash this year. They are considered solid so they can be crossed with barred to make sex links if the Rooster is an Arkansas Blue.

@ronott1 when you say "if the Rooster is an Arkansas Blue" Did you mean a "Blue Arkansas Blue Ro" or are you including "Splash Arkansas Blues" in that statement?

It is all the same genetics with blue black splash. It should work with a splash rooster too. It does work with a blue rooster.

I will check in with the sex link thread to see.

Hi,
I am hoping to find the breeder of the Blue Ameraucana Roo I purchased at the Modesto show from the sale area. We absolutely love him and would like to get more information about him for our breeding records.
We are also looking for another black Ameraucana hen of high quality.
Any help in finding the breeder would be appreciated!
Thank you

I am wanting to start up with quail and have absolutely no idea about them. What I am looking for is what size of a cage I need for about 60 snowflake or California Valley quail. Also what kind of feed do I buy for them? And what kind of nest do they need? Any links would be appreciated so I can go on and just read and maybe see some pictures of others' set up. Thank you
