California - Northern

During our fair this year a Cornish bantam was noticed with bubbles. He was immediately quarantined. We later learned that breeds with dense skulls, (Brahma & Cornish), will release sinus pressure with eye bubbles. It's always best to err on cautions side IMHO.

That's interesting, thanks for sharing that! For some reason peafowl seem to be prone to sinus infections, but I don't think I've heard why. That was my first and only (knock wood).

They are so common in peafowl that this person has a link that show how to do surgery:

Hello I'm curious how all the Californians are dealing with the drought? We haven't been hit as hard as the rest of the state has but we live in a pretty wet spot.
Well the lawn died last year so thats not a problem garden is a little sparser this year and more water conscious but over all we have not hit the summer months yet depends on how bad this summer gets. Heat waves like we have seen in the past will probably push my garden over the edge. Ill buy bottled water if need be for the chickens. :)

Sounds about the same as cayChris. Only I'm a few hours east of him. Lawns growing on its own at this point. garden is minimal and just waiting to see how this summer goes. No snow in my immediate area this winter(not a good sign) but still some higher up the mountain. Even some yesterday but it will be gone tomorrow.

Ha, yes, legbars. I shouldn't type when tired :)

Chrissy in tracy has them. I have blanked on her handle lol

we gave up on the lawn and garden this year. Our other big deal is we use bath water to flush. That saves a lot.
