I always hear from them by the end of the day they receive them. Of course the report is very preliminary, but often the final results on the final report are the same. Which of the four labs did you send to?

I sent her to UCD. She arrived on Thursday but I have not heard anything yet. Did you get it in email?

Call them... They should have the results from from the gross necropsy and might also have the results from histopathology.

@casportpony before I had the chance to call they sent me an email. What I know is that she didn't have salmonella also included was this:

* Moderate to severe, bilateral fibrino-necrotizing conjunctivitis and sinusitis..5-22-2015: the most significant finding in this chicken is the bilateral fibrinous and necrotizing conjunctivitis/sinusitis, likely of bacterial etiology; however, viral causes cannot be ruled out at this point. Histopathology to better assess the described changes and ancillary tests to aim to determine the etiology of this condition are pending. Results to follow.

If it does turn out to be bacterial that is better news for the health of the rest of my flock is that correct??

I think it will be better news as long as mycoplasma is not found, but don't quote me on that.

Like Kathy posted, it depends on what the bacteria is. They will grow a culture and try to identify the bacteria.

Hopefully it will grow!

Have discovered something rather bizarre about my cockerel. He HATES my BFF's fake nails. If she tries to feed the birds, he goes right for them, violently pecking and squawking . Doesn't seem to matter what color polish she has on either. He just does NOT like those nails. The girls don't notice them or react at all (they just want the treat being offered).
my last boy didn't like me showing my winter white legs in my shorts. He'd attack me every time ;)

I used to think mine was annoyed by the cordless drills noise, that was until he saw it sitting on the ground one day. I had a heck of a time getting the drill away from him, he was going to show that blue and yellow drill who was boss.!

Maybe he thinks they're shiny beetles lol
