the Valley Fire started about 1/2 mile north of us and then came at us...it turned east about 2 blocks from us and burnt around us and the local school...so close...our neighborhood is like there never was a fire...the Cobb Village was spared as well...but our dear forest was 83% lost...

hey there we are over in clearlake! so glad to hear your house and neighborhood are still there!!! the fires we have had the past few months have been terrifyng hopefully we are through the worst!

Hi all, In case anyone remembers my sick hen, Flora, just updating you all. I'm happy to say she has made a complete recovery! The vet said she wasn't going to make it but she is doing great. I think what happened was that she ate something poisonous but she managed to pull through. She is molting right now but she looks great & her new feathers are gorgeous. She only has 1 tail feather right now, lol. Here she is with her photobombing buddy:

Glad she made it. She is beautiful. What breed is she?
