The EE is Flappy Bird and has taken over as the flock leader since we got rid of the roo. Forgot to mention her specifically before.

Ok, I'm pretty sure that I'm safe in saying that I live in Central CA.  I live in the foothills East of Fresno - you can't get much closer to the center of the state than that!!!

Is there anybody out there who is relatively close to me?

Lori

Hi Lori,
I'm close to you I frequent Fresno, Clovis, and Madera with homes in both Fresno and Madera. Are you in/near Albury, Prather,Tollhouse,or Shafer Lake area or elsewhere close? We're definitely central California.

PULLETS!

These girls just came into work yesterday. It's been a month or so since we've had so many of the little cuties. The EEs in this batch are especially adorable... I've recently found I'm a huge sucker for EEs.

And this little girl is Beverly... she reminded me so much of my old girl Hannibal that I just had to beg my boss for her... EEs are popular so he said I can band her for now but if we run out of them early or someone really wants her I have to give her up! Fingers crossed nobody likes her too much!

Hi. I'm discovering I am very interested in EE's. Yours are beautiful!I hope you get to keep Beverly she's a doll! Your Leghorn look great too! I'm pretty new here and got locked out of my account when I switched phones for awhile.
I'm looking for info on great breeds because my husband and I want to get between 6-15 chickens for laying and pets. We think it will be a good experience for our kids too.

EEs are honestly such a fun breed! I have about... let me think... 9 right now... 10 if I get to keep Bev... all of them are cuties I found at work and just had to have. I call them my "Hannibal Crew" because they're all named after characters from the TV show.

Oh, oh, I'm a breed expert! OK, maybe not expert, but breeds are my thing. Love me some neat chicken breeds. For laying and pets, my recommendations would include Barred Rocks, New Hampshires, EEs, Buff Orpingtons, Black Sex Links, and Red Sex Links. BSLs and RSLs will be the best layers on that list, whereas I'm a real fan of New Hampshires as an average production bird with great personality and pet qualities. Shout out to Brahmas and Faverolles as excellent pets and adequate-but-not-great layers, and to Silver Laced Wyandottes, Gold Laced Wyandottes, Hamburgs, and Speckled Sussex as production-oriented eye candy.

Your are a bit out of our area, but if you wanted to make a road trip sometime, we have pullets year round! We're The Poultry Palace in Placerville, CA, you can find our website and contact information pretty easily on the web and you can PM me if you'd like to know anything about the store. Those pictures of the pullets are from this morning - I'm actually at work right now, we had a huge feed delivery come in today and we've still got loads of people showing up for pullets. I expect this batch to last for about 2 weeks, then we'll have another batch in early Jan. as well.
