California - Northern

Just candled eggs on day 10. 13 of 23 Pita eggs developing Neal brought me 8 delaware eggs and 5 silkie eggs. well only one of each was clear. the funny thing about that is Neal has a silkie he calls Tranny because she started out laying eggs then started crowing and now mates the remaining silkie hen after the original male died. We werent sure the eggs would be fertile but they seem to be. (the other male died long enough ago to not be left over) Its one of the weirdest things. We wonder if this girl was intersexed rather than fully male. It doesnt lay any more. But he definitely was getting 2 eggs on some days.

Has anyone heard of anything like this?

if you want some eggs from your rooster let me know. What kind of incubator do you have?

I would love some! I just have a cheap styrofoam incubator; yours looks pretty fancy. Last time I hatched I only had half the eggs in the incubator hatch. I had broody hens, though, & they hatched all of their eggs except one. I keep expecting somebody to go broody again but no luck so far.

I don't know when the eggs that I ordered will be coming, but when I find out I will check with you & see if you have any eggs I can put in too.

Hello I am now offering hatching eggs from my rare german beilfelders. the price is 40 a dozen. normally these eggs go for 50-55 dollars a dozen but I do not have incubator space. I have really good birds. The hens come from union hill and the rooster is from a breeder in Arizona. This is a very large breed that is dual purpose. They may be big, but they are the calmest birds I have ever owned. especially the roosters. I am located in Manteca California. if you are interested text me at two zero nine four eight one four zero five eight. I don't check this site much so it might be a while before I can read it if you message me on here. if you want a half dozen price just reduces in half to 20. If you want 18 I will make it 55 instead of 60.

I have read that hermaphrodite chickens occur but it is very rare.
