x2. Hatchery Brahmas are not any larger than your typical standard hatchery cock.

That is so interesting! My brahma hens are right now the biggest of the hens, the brahma roo a tad bigger then them, but the Welsumer roo the biggest of all because he matured early. Hmmm. It would be great if I could keep the brahma...
Anybody want a slightly mean Welsumer roo? Also hatched 4/25/16. Very good about protecting his hens, calls alarms and corals hens when he sees danger, calls them over for treats. Absolutely gorgeous. Might be a lot more respectful with a stranger )

I mean, if they're from a good hatchery, they might be slightly larger than the typical standard. Perhaps a pound or two more... but not giant like real Brahmas. I've seen top quality Brahmas in person and it's not something you forget... hatchery Brahmas are pretty, exhibition Brahmas will make your jaw drop and your knees weak.

I can offer that Welsummer a place at my dinner table if you get tired of his brattiness, but that's about it. I've got about a dozen standard boys as it is and I've finally had to stop the madness. No more cockbirds for me until some of these pass away (which could be a while).

That's very interesting. I don't have time to read the article yet but I will once the kids lay down to nap. I'm really interested if finding the least harmful wormer that's actually effective. I've also heard bad things about de. What should I use to keep my chickens healthy but also so egg consumption is still safe?
What have you heard about DE the only thing Ive ever heard is to be sure its food grade and beware of breathing in the dust.

....and that it will not kill worms at all....It cannot possible kill them because DE will not work when wet. Period... Dot...Not at all....

I read a big article another user posted. I'll see if I can find it. Seems it's not as sage as some believe. I didn't want to believe it but when I googled it I found a ton of stuff on how unsafe it was. Now I'm at a loss on what to use... :(
