That oughta be interesting. Have you been? What breed do you mostly find? How much do they go for in general? I don't have Facebook so it's hard for me to explore it. I'll check to see if they have a website.

Edit: No website. If I am reading is correct, they won't have the auction this Sunday due to extreme heat. But Escalon will have their auction this Friday at NOON. In case someone in the group who lives close by wants to go and report with pictures...

Are you looking for poultry? They have a bunch for sale at Lodi (PPBA Show) in January and some are nice and conform well enough to the SOP. It is late in the breeding season though.

Yes, it is always the last weekend. But there are other shows that have sale birds. If you got to amerpoultryassociation.com they have shows and might have one near you. There is a show in Fresno, and there is the Greater California Bird Show (not exact name, I forgot what it is) I don't know when they are but I believe they sell birds there.

Update: Nevermind! Didn’t realize moving was one of the ways to break a broody hen. Guess I’ll raise them by hand again. (Boo hoo, I get adorable chicks to play with for a few weeks. )

Hi! Does anyone have a broody hen they’re willing to sell or let me borrow? I have eggs due to hatch in a week on Monday and would like to try having a hen raise them this time.

I live in Lake county and can pick up in the surrounding counties or from the Bay Area this weekend. Thanks!

If the hen is very broody, moving them will not break their broodiness.

I just moved a broody hen with her fake eggs. Didn't break her broodiness. She just got her chicks to raise and she's doing great. It usually takes a few time to break the broody by moving them off the nest in my experience.
