Thanks for checking on my chicks!
The formerly 'sick' Marans roo is totally 100% fine. I see no issue with him at all. He is trying to CROW oh my gosh. What a sick sick sound. Ahhhhjkaaaaaaaaahhhh! He says lmbo.
My Buff Orp roo tho is the same. I finally got some good footage of what he has been doing.
He doesn't do that alllll the time but very frequently. But you can clearly see he's not right. I wonder if this is bacterial- something he somehow ingested because he's been 'afflicted' since Saturday morning/Friday night. So if it is contagious- it must be slow moving or I separated them all in time. It's hard to say yet.
The other 4 of the same age spent their first night outside and did great. The exhibit absolutely NO symptoms. No gaping or open beaks unless they are singing.
My 2 week old babies are also totally fine.
I don't want the Buff Orp to get lonely, so I am leaving the other one in there for company. But honestly- no matter how you look at it. I am going to have cull the Orp. I mean- honestly...since I have no idea what is causing it and no one else is sick- I cannot introduce him back into the flock you know? I am just sick about it. Will someone please share with me how to cull such a young chick and what is the best way to dispose of the body?
Thank you!
