California - Northern

I'll be posting new info about the party on July 15th, I hope everyone can come!!

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I had a medical issue that took a loooong time for the doctors to figure out and it sucked! I hope they are able to figure it out and treat you soon. My prayers are with you!

If you need help with the party let me know. I'll be back in Concord on Saturday and would love to help you out however I can! Let me know :-)

Thanks but unfortunately no, I'm having to cut back on my hatching, it's just too much for me until the doctors get this all figured out. It's been over 5 months and still in horrible pain

I'm doing quite a bit of flock reduction and new pullets as well if anyone is interested.
I wish you lived closer! I could probably use just a couple pullets. I am not sure I am going to get as many females as I had hoped with these 2 batches. The combs are looking big on my Marans. I am hoping I guess at least 2 BCM ladies would be better than nothing from my Marans batch. I can let them hatch some offspring this Spring/Summer maybe. I do have a few Orp ladies it looks like.

I'm so sorry you are in pain. I have known many people who live with chronic pain and my heart just hurts for them. I hope they find answers so you can find relief.

We don't have any chairs but we'll bring our own camping chairs (the only two we have!) I'm awesome at anything computer related so if you need help with the spreadsheet I'm your gal! I also can come over and help setup (if you don't mod me bringing a couple rug rats with me to help... I nanny during the week).

I don't mind the kids, but I don't think we'll need more than the morning to setup. It's pretty simple. Larry will be barbecuing so we can do burgers/links etc But an early morning setup would be great!!

Pretty excited to have been led to this board! I am in Napa, (northern California). I only have one other friend who is raising chickens and she is about an hour away. Very excited to get opinions from others in California as I am a complete newbie to chicken raising love. I have a very mixed flock.
Ready for a million pictures?
Here is Frankie monster (my sons version of Frankenstein.

Now for the boys. Oreo who has a very important date with the freezer due to his foul attitude

This is the lover of all the chickens. This guy has been attacked by the dog twice, a coyote once and is now blind in one eye but still comes when called and is a cuddle bug like not other. I swear he is part cat. Peanut Butter

Welcome chicks n dogs! You made it here! Glad you found the thread. Your chickens are great. I have 9 pullets, all different breeds, and love the variety.

People are pretty spread out geographically here, but there is also a Bay Area thread and a California whole state thread, although this seems to be the most active and everyone is soooo nice and helpful.

Happy chickens to you!
Lynda
