California - Northern

Hi! Welcome to the thread! There are quite a few friendly folks following this thread, and many of them have a lot of chicken experience. So if you need advice or just want to chat, this is a good place.

There's also a CA whole state thread that may have some BYCers close to you as well.

Take care!

Fighting is illegal in every state. A chicken friend asked me if I had heard that California was doing this. Probably just a rumor but thought i would check with folks that might know. Thanks.
Must be California Quail, wild turkeys, wild phesants. Their also known as Game.

Hmmm kinda the same shape as a leghorn maybe. Though mine seem somewhat bigger.
They have a neat comb. call it a king comb
Thank you. I need to keep things like this in mind, I'm in Advanced poultry showmanship and need you all to help me out with some advanced questions.

Maybe dealing with the APA Standard?
I was asked one year, the 5 true bantams. Japanese, Belgian Bearded D'anver, Belgian D'uccle, Booted Bantam, Rosecomb.

The 6 classes of Large fowl: Mediterranean, American, English, Continental, Asiatic and All other Standard Breed

The 5 classes of Bantam: Single Comb Clean legged, Rosecomb Clean legged, Feather Legged and All other comb clean legged.

So any advanced questions would be appreciated!

Quote: That is great!

Later I will post some pictures of my Cream Legbars and EO Basque Cockerels so you(and Capay Kim and all who want to) can help me pick the best one or two of each. Those are tougher since there are no American Standards for them, but we can check into the General standards.
