Amy: Nice Coop! Growing up we kept 20 in a set up like that. You will hear about the 4 sq feet per chicken quoted as a set rule. Then you will read that you don't need as much space if you have a big run and lots of roost space. Your sq feet should include the run since it is all open. One of the biggest points, especially where you live, is the coop and run are not really to keep the chickens in. It is to protect the chickens. How is it less cruel to leave them out where they will be brutally eaten by a predator? Often the same people that blast you for penning your chickens are the first to blast those that eat their own chickens.
