yeah ace was out of misters so I had to do the old fashioned way. as my wife would say. Jason that is rednecked lol (not that there is anything wrong with that)

Hand sprayer set to the mister setting with a small bungie cord tightley wrapped around the handle hanging from my fence. lol

ohwell it works and the chickens love it

I almost did that too! Luckily Home Depot had the mister so I was saved from the redneck way.

SeckeledHen is great! What she said....

assuming it is ok but can you mix save a chick with the apple vinegar?

Adding the vinegar along with Save a Chick would be fine. Remember, like an earlier poster said, do not use a metal waterer.

Quote: I really had no choice, since I had contracted for the two events.

The poultry show is next weekend, coop-in Friday morning, judging on Saturday and coop-out Sunday night, Fur & Feathers (Building 6) at the Exposition Center (the big cement complex with the brick area in the center).

Good luck at the show!

Scary few moments this afternoon.

Neighbor's house. Has been empty for a few months.
Luckily, volunteer fire dept is less than a quarter mile away. Very quick response.

This was the view from our backyard.

Two Cal Fire planes also sent out to safeguard the dry hill across the street. So much tall grass!!

These guys more than earned their keep today. 94 in the shade. Both were beet red when masks and helmets came off. Over half the house destroyed, but fire did not spreadl, even with huge Monterey pines right near.
Kudos to Bennett Valley Fire Dept. and all other firefighters!

I am so relieved!

It is terrible when fires like that happen. The pictures help us to understand both how close the fire was and how great the fire fighters are.

No injuries at all, thank heavens. It sure does get the adrenaline pumping! Got to see quite a few neighbors, though, and one that I had never met before. We were all very impressed by and grateful to the firefighters, two of whom will be on site all night, just in case.

Chickens are OK too!

wow up most of the night. Crazy dog

we had insane weather last night up here in the higher foothills. at least 4 seperate thunder and lightning storms and periods of intense rain. Now very cool breezy and you can hear thunder in the distance

yikes, you're just over the hill from me -- so glad the firefighters were so close by! we're quite a ways from the nearest station (up here on sonoma mtn), so fire is a HUGE concern...

best,
laura
