Craigs list has a nice looking Sportsman, 270 egg capacity with the humidity kit and all. It's been on there for a while and today I was thinking of offering a deal to the person.all this food talk is making me hungry!! I h aren't been able to keep up with the thread the last week or so, but I am finalizing everything in Davis for the renters moving in then moving full time to Redding. All my little chickies are hatching while I"m madly cleaning... but update for all you chicken stockers.... I don't have my calender with all my notes so I don't recall what I started with, what I pulled, etc. Also there were a handful of unmarked eggs so I'll be sending some pics to Cheryl in the next few days for IDs, but I am guessing I have: for sure 8 partridge brahmas, 3 jubilees and I think 2-3 more from unmarked eggs because they look very similar, 2 MF leghorns and 1 ?, 2 Sp sussex, 4 of my EE eggs hatched three being that amazingly cool green and one blue egg. outside of that I had a bunch of other brahmas, swedish flower hens, silkies, cochins, polish and blue, lav, and LC orps hatch. I haven't even counted those cuz they were all in the cabinet bator together. Overall a good hatch. Still have 4 PB and 3 Jubs in the bator just in case but not much sign of progress. My candler when out on my while I was candling before lockdown so I ended up leaving a few in that I was pretty sure had quit. I'll give them a day or two then do some eggtopsies to see what the story is.
Can't wait to get back to by breeding pens in redding and start hatching some eggs!! I may get some mutts but I can't resist especially the CLs. I am so impressed with the size of their eggs compared to my EE and SFHs that are laying!
happy monday!
Between the two of us we could over run Northern CA with chicks..Insert evil laugh.....
