I was there late, but it was a nice setup. I am taking the last of my 12 and 13 week old little roos.

I have a hatchery girl, and she is very pretty, but maybe not quite the right shape. Love their color. In the sun, the neck feathers look like orange glass.


Hard to get pics in the sun. They're always heading for the shade!

ya, we are going. talk on the thread about i in the chicken shows and meet ups section too so it doesn't fall to the second page again and people remember to go. I think there is going to be a BYC breakfast on Tuesday.

Update on friends chicken, she is doing good. I told my friend give her some yougart, rasins, oats. some good protein foods. she is eating good. she has about 12 eggs under her. the previous rentors took 1 broody hen the the roo about 2 weeks ago. the hen peeked 2 eggs open. I told her leave them under her. chance they may be fertile. she had no food or water when my frineds frined found her in the house they are going to rent. then she tells me that the previous rentors want the chicks that hatch. they left her with no food and water, they shouldn't get any i think. I told her I will be welcome t come over and take a look and check her out. this is a farm hen. they should of not left her like that.

Hi. I just wanted to say Hello. I am new here and was told this was where people from my neck of the woods are. I am in west marin. Right now in the san geronimo valley but i hope to move to point reyes or inverness in the next year and I am waiting ntil after that move to get some chickens. I like to learn as much as I can in advance though so I am reading up. I had 1 chicken when I was a teenager and she was very much a lap chicken. I have wanted to have more chickens ever since.

They abandoned her, no longer their hen or chicks. Very bold of them!

This reminds me of people who abandon the mother cat to keep a cute kitten...that they also don't get fixed.....
