with all the reading I do on here. I am guessing that the marans lay the darkest egg? Is that right? I think i want to get a couple or more

i am looking for different colors of eggs. The families I sell to have little kids who love to look at the different colors of the eggs they are going to eat. :)

From what I have seen
Black Copper Maran followed by Partridge or Wheaten Penedesenca though the Penedesenca may be darker on young chickens.

Jubilee Orpington's ......
ha, molly, I think we have virtually all the same breeds. whenever we do exchange eggs, it may have to be a big exchange to bring in some diversity to each of our flocks. I had chocolates but only one hatched and it died a few weeks later and I gave up. My jubilees are about 6 months old... keep hoping some eggs will come out soon. my wyandottes FINALLY started to lay. they sure took their sweet time! :-) I am getting excited to hatch some of those. I have a SFH that is broody. My very first broody hen. I decided to take advantage and try to let her hatch some stuff since this would be a first for me and my kids have been begging for me to let the chickens hatch their own eggs. I just threw everything I collected today under her, so we will see what happens!
Yes, I have the slash wyandottes...I will get pictures of them tomorrow ...
