It looks like you give them 1tsp for 2 quarts to equal an 800mg dose. You have to make a fresh batch each day, so make what they would drink. One or two quarts.

Some of them said for CRD that it did not work and switched to Tylan. That is what I have read before so if they do not get better quickly, move to tylan.

I hope they get better fast!

I got busy and forgot too.  It was probably Echo Valley Feed there - that's where I buy my feed. (at least until the TSC goes in)

This is what Dawg 53 says about CRD. Note: not the same as Asperglosis(black Mold)

Once birds get a respiratory disease and if they survive even after treatment with ANY antibiotic, they become carriers for life. Any type of stress can bring out the symptoms and retreatment is necessary. Even using the same antibiotic such as duramycin might not work again because the disease has built up resistance to it. Therefore you have to use a more powerful antibiotic, the cycle never ends. Antibiotics treat the symptoms, not cure the disease. This is why it's recommended to cull birds with respiratory diseases.

I would send one off for Necropsy to see if it is CRD or Black Mold.

I woke up at 3 am this morning (and yes, I looked in the incubator too.)   I'm glad I did, because there were 3 pips! Tomorrow is actual hatchday so was I ever surprised!  It's a good thing we were at Apple Hill for several hours or I would have worn out the maglite looking for action!  When we got home, there were 4 pips and one was zipping.  And now, that first blue/black silkie has the top off "HER" shell and is resting!

I love the fall decorations...
I'm going to Apple Hill on the 20th. I have NEVER been. I have lived in Newcastle my whole life and never been. How lame!

So very frustrated. My icelandic rooster Curly got in with my crele penedesenca rooster and beat the snot out of him. Took many of the feathers off his head.
I think he is going to be ok. he is eating and drinking and I uped the save a chick. However I was so mad I promptly disposed of  my icelandic rooster.

I have been trying to get rid of him and the rest of my icelandic's to focus on the penedesenca. Now I just have 3 icelandic hens and a younger rooster ( from Molly)
I will try and get some pic's of his head in a day or two but just want to let him relax the next few days

As Promised, I am posting pictures of my Heritage RIR Pullets.

This picture shows what the fee are supposed to look like. The yellow with the orange -- you do not see that in the Hatchery RIRs. Also, A good look at the color you are supposed to have - dark Mahogany.



They are young and have more molting, but you can see the colors and pattern along with the straight back and beetle colored tail feathers. Also, the are supposed to be shaped like a brick.



Here is a nice group shot. They will be 16 weeks old tomorrow. They have another molt and then they should have better color and all of their tail feathers.

The necropsy said it was aspergillosis.
