I know that works with EEs, but does that work with RIR x Dorking? I bet no one has crossed like this in a hundred years?
Thank you!

My Daughters love them! Of course one of them is probably a boy.
I wormed mine last month. Easy as putting ivemectin in the water. For your CL, I would give her 1/4 cc in the mouth. I like the swine-injectable ivermectin. Generic is cheaper. I posted a link to one on sale from Jeffers Livestock last week.
Bye,
It is a pretty tight ratio but they are teenagers now so those hormones will settle down and they free range in the day right? Most of the pullets will find hiding spots from an over zealous cockerel. I'd take the wait and see approach until you can either find some pullets that you trust to add to your flock or you get a broody (pullets are known to go broody in their first year). The boys should settle down soon. If you see a problem, rotate the boys on free ranging with the ladies. I don't think you need to cull someone you'd like to keep. PamOk I have not done a head count in a while but I just did one.
In the meat pen: 6 roos, 1 female (getting culled- she is just not doing well. that mold stuff still working itself horrible spell on her)
In the coop:
4 Cockerels/Roosters | 2 Marans + 1 B Orp = 20 weeks old. 1 Bantam Wyandotte = approx 12-18 mos
12 Pullets/Hens | 2 EEs + 1 FBCM/BO mix + 4 Buff Orp = 18-20 weeks old. 4 Buff Orps almost 30 weeks old. 1 Bantam Wyandotte = 12-18 mos.
We are going to my husband's uncles in a bit. With these numbers should I still try to sweet talk him out of some hens? His are all about 2-3 years old and have bare butts (and he does not know why and frankly neither do I since I've never dealt with bare bums).
In my experience, pullets don't get red in their wings like that. Plus the comb is a bit on the developed side for a chick that young. I'm still betting it's a cockerel.I know that works with EEs, but does that work with RIR x Dorking? I bet no one has crossed like this in a hundred years?

Look what I found today! One of my EE pullets from the May hatch is laying green eggs AND after months of broodies everywhere so the layers were laying everywhere except in the laying boxes, and then molting, I was pleased to find this in the boxes today!

And my Splash Polish who was bloated for some reason is not bloated anymore! I can't find an egg, the girls in that pen are still on strike, so I don't know what it was but she's back to normal.
Nice normal chicken day at High 'N Dry Farm....and the Packers won!!! Yippeeee! Hope everyone's enjoying this beautiful fall day!
Off to finish making lasagna for our friends who's husband is in the hospital and coming home today. Was such a help for us when I was in the hospital and recovering from my back surgeries back in March.
